The skills of making clothing and household products from fabric and yarns have been passed along from mother to daughter and granddaughters for generations in my family. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t sew. As I evolved into an artist using fiber to make images was simply an extension of a language inherent in me. Knitting is quiet meditative work. It is a time for me to shush up the world around me and listen to my heart. The vessel is a form that emerged from this meditation.
