Janet Coshow website: janetcoshow.com blog: http://www.justfigures.blogspot.com/ I have always been interested in people...people both real and imagined. I have fallen in love with characters in novels too many times to count. I have cried reading the Gettysburg Address because I adored the man that wrote it so. I have marveled at how the inner characters of people I know can be seen so clearly on their faces and in their gestures. I can waste a bunch of time watching complete strangers engaged in conversation because I love to see moods dance across their faces. Using clay and papier mache, I strive daily to capture what I find so fascinating about my subjects. My sculptures are a success when they capture a mood and when the observer connects with that mood and forgets for a moment that an artist had anything to do with it. | ||||||||
