I have been inspired to paint on silk for the past thirty years because of the beautiful colors that can be created from the primary dyes. Sketch books filled with drawings or photos that I or my husband, Roger, have taken are used in selecting a subject to translate to silk using dyes. Landscapes from the air, seen as "fields of quilts", or from ground level "lay of the land" with their contoured plowed fields often inspire a series of silk paintings.
